| Abstract: | O tema desta dissertação é analisar a obra do pintor mineiro Inimá de Paula (1918 - 1999) em perspectiva histórica, sob a hipótese de ser sua trajetória marginal à história do modernismo em Minas Gerais, centrada na figura do pintor e professor Alberto da Veiga Guignard e seus discípulos. Inimá participou da difusão e implantação do modernismo brasileiro no Ceará e no Rio de Janeiro nas décadas de 1940 e 50 antes de retornar para Minas em meados da década de 1960, onde consolidou sua carreira. A trajetória do artista testemunha um caminho atípico e discreto dentro da história da arte brasileira e que talvez por essa mesma razão constitui uma fonte instigante e provocadora, que levanta novas possibilidades de interpretação da modernidade artística no Brasil em termos históricos e críticos. |
| Abstract: | This dissertation´s theme is to analyze the work of painter Inimá de Paula (1918-1999) from Minas Gerais in historical perspective, under the hypothesis of locate his trajectory in the margins of the history of modernism in Minas Gerais, written centered on painter/teacher Alberto da Veiga Guignard and his disciples. Inimá has participated in the dissemination and implementation of brazilian modernism in Ceará and Rio de Janeiro in the 1940´s and 50´s before returning to Minas Gerais in the mid-60´s where he consolidated his career. The trajectory of the artist testify of an atypical and discreet way in the brazilian art history, which constitutes an instigating and provocative source of innovative interpretations in historical and critical terms of artistic modernity in Brazil. |
