Amelogênese imperfeita: reabilitação estética e funcional - relato de caso

Abstract

The clinical case described runs upon the integrated planning and the stages of a functional-esthetic rehabilitation of an adult patient, female, with the diagnostic of imperfect amelogenesis. The degenerations founded were: unsatisfactory anterior teeth restorations, posterior teeth without restorations, besides anterior open bite, insufficient interocclusal space for occlusal rehabilitation and dentin hypersensitivity. In the beginning the treatment involved the increase of the vertical dimension of the occlusion, based on the diagnostic wax for the confection of a temporary crown, besides the endodontic retreatment of the committed teeth. In a second moment, surgeries for lengthening of clinical crowns were made in the four posterior hemi arches. After conclusion of the surgical stage, new cavity preparations were made and lithiumdisilicate crowns confection. The treatment objective was re-establishing the bite function, eliminate the sensibility and increase the smile esthetic of the patient, through an integrated planning and a multidisciplinary treatment. The treatment not even restored the function and esthetic, as presented a positive psychological impact and, as consequence, improved the life quality from the patient.
