| Abstract: | Esta pesquisa dedica-se à investigação da natureza do espaço urbano a partir do processo de formação e transformação dos territórios citadinos ocidentais em sua trajetória histórica até a contemporaneidade. Objetiva prospectar a consistência teórica de uma crise instalada na transição da Idade Média para a Moderna que, segundo Lewis Mumford e Henri Lefèbvre, teria levado à perda da orientação humana na produção dos espaços urbanos. O estudo voltase, sobretudo, à realidade que circunda o ponto inflexão configurado pelo século XVI e às conseqüências sociais e espaciais determinadas por ele na conformação de cidades. Refuta assim, a hipótese de tal perda revelando ter havido a diminuição do esforço crítico decompreensão das cidades na contemporaneidade simultaneamente à multiplicação de tempos e espaços que criam novas formas de vida e fazem com que a geografia urbana se imponha à construção intencional da história. |
| Abstract: | This research is dedicated to investigate the urban space from the process of formation and transformation in citys occidental territories on a historic way until the contemporary. The main goal is to study the crisis that happened between the Middle Age and Modern Age. This crisis, according to Lewis Mumford and Henri Lefèbvre, may cause the lost of the human orientation to produce the urban spaces. The research explores the XVI century and the social and spatial consequences that determinate the formation of territories at city. Despite this, it was rejected the idea of the lost of human orientation to produce, therefore, it was revealed the shrink of an effort to comprehend the cities at contemporary. At the same time, the multiplication of time and space creates new life styles that impose the urban geografhy on history. |
