| Abstract: | A narrativa alegórica/simbólica considerada como categoria de entendimento, nessa dissertação de mestrado, teve o objetivo de organizar e comparar, em linhas gerais, um contexto de tradição e renovação no cinema de animação. Para tanto, foram utilizados como referencial teórico os conceitos de modo simbólico e modo alegórico, cunhados pelo semiótico Umberto Eco. Foi, então, possível reconstruir dentro da história da animação o florescimento de uma tendência narrativa alegórica/simbólica que ganhou grande expressividade nas décadas de 1950 e 1960, e que se mantém presente, ainda hoje, em filmes produzidos principalmente no Leste Europeu. A análise proposta constatou que as mudanças econômicas, culturais e políticas ocorridas no mundo ocidental, no período seguinte ao pós-guerra, possibilitaram a criação de um expressivo número de filmes alegóricos/simbólicos e a formação de espectadores abertos à recepção dessa significativa forma narrativa. |
| Abstract: | The allegoric/symbolic narrative considered as category of understanding, in this dissertation, had the objective of organizing and comparing, in general, a traditional and renovational context in animation cinema. For such endeavor, theoretical concepts of symbolic mode and allegoric mode, coined by the semioticist Umberto Eco, were used. It was, then, possible to reconstruct in the history of animation the lourishment of an allegoric/symbolic narrative tendency that gained great expressivity in the decades of 1950 and 1960, and that remains present, still today, in films produced principally in Eastern Europe. The analysis proposed verified that the economic, cultural and political changes that occurred in the western world, following the post-war period, enabled the creation of an expressive number of allegoric/symbolic films and the formation of spectators opened to receptivity of this significant form of narrative. |
