Um olhar sobre a matemática através de atividades de exploração e resolução de problemas para alunos do 5º ano do ensino fundamental

Abstract

This study discusses the importance of exploratory activities and problem-solving methodology in teaching mathematics. Work has been done in a public school with students from 5th grade and diagnosed through the exploration and the variety of problems, the interest and taste of the students when they have the chance to explore and obtain more than one possible answer to same question. They feel motivated and confident during this work. For the improvement of this study, I have based mainly on the authors João Pedro da Ponte, Kathy Stocco Smole and Luiz Roberto Dante. I have concluded that the resolution of problems and exploratory activities consist of fundamental practices for improving teaching and learning in mathematics, and highlight possible strategies for teachers who want to use them.
