Projeto de intervenção para realização do exame citológico de colo uterino em uma Equipe de Saúde da Família, Mar de Espanha/MG

Abstract

Although known forms of prevention and screening, cervical cancer is still associated with high mortality, being a public health problem. This study aimed to develop an intervention project aiming to improve the coverage of cytology in the catchment area of a team Health Strategy of Family of the Mar Spain/MG. First we carried out a literature review which analyzed: national periodicals, technical manuals from the Ministry of Health, INCA, DATASUS and published in the period 2006-2013, and articles available on some databases of the Virtual Health Library. The intervention project provides for active search of women aged between 25 and 64 years and the use of the rotary design the examination by the health unit. Training of health staff and family educational community work are also provided showing the importance of screening to reduce the incidence of cervical cancer. It is hoped that the development of this intervention, offer health education on the prevention of cervical cancer and improve the coverage of the prioritized examination age. We conclude that it is necessary to a reorganization of the health service, primarily by defining specific actions for women's health. For the city in which I work this work was of great importance because the performance of the UBS team will be more effective, allowing a more comprehensive coverage of women to perform the screening.
