A odontologia na Estratégia Saúde da Família: desafios e expectativas

Abstract

The recent incorporation of dentistry in the Family Health Strategy reveals many challenges and expectations for professionals and communities. This study aimed to conduct a literature review on the proposed topic proposed based on scientific articles published in the period from 2003 to 2012 and surveyed in modules CEABSF, Nescon virtual library, scientific sites (SCIELO, VHL BIREME and develop a plan of intervention to discuss the actions of the oral health team to be inserted primarily at the health center in the municipality of Boa Vista Petropolis RJ. In theoretical reasoning and discussion we evaluated approaches such as the insertion of the surgeon - dentist on staff and their relationship with other professionals, as well as the perception of the user. From observations of the post Boa Vista team in the attendances and daily consultations realized the need to prepare an action plan for thepurpose of prevention, promotion and restoration of oral health in a population never assisted and guided by an official of area. The rebuilding of dental practice in the Family Health Program is a challenge that involves not only professionals, but also the politics of health,education centers and societies ascribed in each territory.
