Resumo
Embora haja inúmeras discussões a respeito das definições, características e conceitos acerca do Design Social, percebe-se uma dificuldade em encontrar os projetos e os designers que trabalham com essa abordagem no Brasil, assim como a metodologia aplicada nesses projetos, fragmentando a discussão sobre o assunto, distanciando estudantes e designers. Este artigo buscou traçar um breve panorama do Design Social no Brasil, de modo a instigar o desenvolvimento de outras pesquisas contribuindo para a discussão ainda incipiente sobre a área. Como resultado observou-se: a relação do Design Social com as práticas extensionistas nas universidades, na busca por construir um saber com a sociedade, por meio dos grupos com os quais interage, gerando transformação social; os métodos e ferramentas utilizados, quando não especificados, baseiam-se fundamentalmente em processos colaborativos, onde a co-criação é encorajada.
Abstract
Although there are numerous discussions about the definitions, characteristics and concepts about Social Design, there is a difficulty in finding the projects and designers who work with this approach in Brazil, as well as the methodology applied in these projects, fragmenting the discussion about the subject, pushing students and designers away. This paper sought to draw a brief overview of Social Design in Brazil, in order to instigate the development of other research, contributing to the still incipient discussion on the area. As a result it was observed: the relationship of Social Design with extension practices in Universities, in the quest to build knowledge with society, through the groups in which it interacts, generating social transformation; the methods and tools used, when unspecified, are fundamentally based on collaborative processes, where co-creation is encouraged.
