Criação e autoria: considerações sobre as práticas artísticas e intelectuais modernas

Abstract

The article aims to investigate the relationship between creation and authorship, analyzing the lexical and semantic changes associated with the notion of author, as well as the modern artistic and intellectual practices. Two cases will be studied: the publication of the works of the Scottish poet Ossian in the eighteenth century, exemplifying a process of "modernization", and Shakespeare's construction over the seventeenth and the eighteenth centuries as the great modern genius. By shedding light in the modern affirmation of a new conception of human creation, the article also intends to put in light the concomitant process of discrimination, relegation and elimination of other concepts or practices, from different cultures or past times.
