Resumo
O presente artigo tem como objetivo problematizar a noção de representação política a partir de uma perspectiva comunicacional e discursiva centrada na linguagem, a fim de avançar na discussão de alguns dilemas clássicos: a) se um representante deve fazer o que os seus representados querem, b) se o representante age em nome de alguém ou de algum interesse, no lugar de alguém ou para alguém, c) se a representação política é democrática, d) se existe de fato uma crise atual da representação e e) quando a representação é legítima. Conclui-se que uma abordagem comunicacional da representação política é capaz de contribuir para a compreensão de que a) o ato de representar é sistêmico, difuso e multifacetado; b) uma abordagem comunicativa considera símbolos e imagens importantes para a compreensão da representação política, c) a legitimidade se constitui discursivamente entre representantes e representados e deve levar em conta o protagonismo dos afetados.
Abstract
The article aims to problematize the notion of political representation from a communicational and discursive perspective focus on language, in order to move forward in the discussion of some classic dilemmas: a) if a representative must do what the people they
epresent want, b) if the representative acts in the behalf of someone or some interest, on the place of someone or for someone, c) if the political representation is democratic, d) if there is indeed an actual crisis of representation and e) when the representation is legitimate. It is concluded that a communicational approach is capable of contributing to a comprehension that a) the act of representing is systemic, diffuse and multifaceted; b) a communicational approach considers important symbols and imagery to the comprehension of the political representation and c) the legitimacy is discursively constituted between representatives and the people they represent and it should take into account the protagonism of the affected.
