Resumo
Analizamos en este articulo las similitudes y diferencias en dos destinos turísticos: Benidorm/ España y Natal/ Brasil. Son localidades centradas en el turismo de sol y playa. Investigamos el perfil y motivaciones de los entrevistados; si conocían el destino anteriormente; sus situaciones laborales y la forma en que ocupan su tiempo de ocio. Es un estudio cualitativo, adoptando como estrategia metodológica entrevistas abiertas. Las similitudes principales se refieren al clima como motivación principal para elegir estos destinos turísticos, la existencia de un viaje turístico anterior y desfrutar el tiempo ocio. Las diferencias más notables son sobre la situación laboral, en Natal, la mayoría se encuentra trabajando en el sector turístico y/o inmobiliario, y en Benidorm son turistas y jubilados y, además, los turistas que pasan sus vacaciones en Benidorm repiten sus estancias como turistas a lo largo de toda una vida, mientras que en Natal suelen ser estancias permanentes.
Abstract
In this article, we analyze the similarities and differences in two tourist destinations: Benidorm/ Spain and Natal/ Brazil. These places are characterized of tourism of "sun and beach". We investigate the profile and the motivations of the interviewees; if they were visited these places previously; work’s situations and how they take up their free time. It is a qualitative study that included open interviews as a methodological strategy. The main similarities are related to the climate as main motivation to choose these tourist destinations; the existence of an earlier tourist trip and to enjoy the free time. The most notable differences are the work situation: In Natal, most are working in the tourist sector, or in the real estate sector. In Benidorm, most are tourists and retirees. In addition, tourists who spend their holidays in Benidorm repeat their stays as tourists throughout a lifetime, while in Natal are usually permanent stays.
