| dc.description.abstract | This article presents and discusses the theoretical and methodological bases for the material analysis of bibliographic documents. Firstly, the article identifies the discursive fields in which the bookbinding history is constituted, emphasizing the influence of formalistic disciplines devoted to the material analysis of texts. Then, after conceptualizing and discussing the gestures and practices underling the book three-dimensionality, the work focuses on the three mechanical systems that characterized the printed book, highlighting the moment of the systematization of the use of paper as a support. Finally, the article presents a methodological solution for bibliological analysis and places it in perspective with the graphical document conservation practices. | |

| local.description.resumo | O presente trabalho tem por objetivo apresentar e discutir as bases teóricas e metodológicas para a análise material de documentos bibliográficos. Em um primeiro momento, o artigo identifica os campos discursivos nos quais a história da encadernação se constitui, dando ênfase à incidência das disciplinas formalistas consagradas à análise material dos textos. Em seguida, após conceituar e discutir os gestos e as práticas que fundam a tridimensionalidade do livro, o trabalho se debruça sobre três sistemas mecânicos que caracterizam o livro impresso, evidenciando o momento marcado pela sistematização do uso do papel como suporte. Finalmente, apresenta uma solução metodológica para a análise bibliológica e a coloca em perspectiva junto às práticas de conservação-restauração de documentos gráficos. | |
