Michel butor, le poète illustrateur

Abstract

Based on the concept of "transgressive illustration", proposed by Anne-Marie Christin, this paper develops an approach to Michel Butor’s poetics in his collaborative works with artists. The relationship between word and image will be analyzed in artist books produced with Miquel Barceló and Youl, in which the poet works in an unusual way, by reversing roles: it is Michel Butor who writes from the images and becomes "illustrator".
