| dc.description.abstract | The main purpose is to study the age of road transport in Minas Gerais, from the post- Second World War to the end of the military regime. It is explored the internal and external factors that conditioned the implantation of the Brazilian most extensive road network, considering a periodization that picks up fluctuation and the cycles of constitution of the integrated transport system. It is analyzed the road infrastructure expansion according to the economical, technical and political matrixes that ruled the second transport modernization process, as well as the dynamic of grant, financing and road building. It is concluded that the age of road transport in Minas Gerais was fundamental to its peripheral insertion consolidation into the Brazilian interregional market. Minas Gerais was crossed by important national roads and was secondarily benefited, only ensuring the link between the regional centers to the national roads. | |

| local.description.resumo | O objetivo principal é o estudo da era rodoviária de Minas Gerais entre o imediato pós-Segunda Guerra e o final do regime militar. São examinados os fatores internos e externos que condicionaram a implantação da mais extensa malha de estradas de rodagem do Brasil, segundo a periodização que capta as flutuações e os ciclos do processo de constituição de sistema de transportes integrado. Analisa-se a expansão da infraestrutura rodoviária segundo as matrizes econômicas, técnicas e políticas que presidiram a segunda modernização dos transportes, assim como a dinâmica de concessão, financiamento e construção das vias. Concluiu-se que o rodoviarismo mineiro foi fundamental para a consolidação da inserção periférica do estado na divisão inter-regional do trabalho de mercado nacional integrado. Minas Gerais foi cortado por importantes troncos rodoviários nacionais e beneficiou-se de forma secundária da malha viária, pautando-se por garantir o acesso dos centros regionais mineiros aos corredores federais. | |
