Resumo
O objetivo deste artigo é analisar as cinco primeiras edições do Festival de Inverno de Ouro Preto, projeto de extensão universitária organizado pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais desde 1967. Mais especificamente, nos interessa as relações de tensão ou de reforço recíproco estabelecidas neste evento entre as suas dimensões festivas e culturais, artísticas e de lazer, culturais e de entretenimento. Nesse sentido, apesar das críticas que a dimensão festiva do Festival recebeu na época, o seu sucesso pode ser atribuído, em larga medida, a capacidade de o evento combinar, de maneira original e criativa, possibilidades de diversão, turismo, fruição artística e formação universitária.
Abstract
The objective of this paper is to analyze the first five editions of the Ouro Preto's Winter Festival, a university project of extension organized by Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) since 1967. More specifically, our interest is the tension relationship or the reciprocal reinforcement defined in this event between its festive and cultural, artistic and recreational, cultural and entertainmental dimensions. In this sense, despite the criticism that the festive dimension received at that time, its success can be attributed, with no doubt, to its capability to combine, in an original and creative way, possibilities for fun, tourism, artistic enjoyment and university formation and graduation
