dc.description.abstractThe book that we are interested in presenting and discussing is still recent, published in 2012, but it is worth admitting that it is no longer new and was the subject of several reviews in the year following its publication (BINTLIFF, 2013, FREIRE, 2013, MARILA, 2013, MILLS, 2013, PORR, 2013). The author, Ian Hodder, a British archaeologist who has already attended one of our meetings of the Brazilian Archaeology Society, a pioneer in different perspectives of post-processual approaches and directly responsible for the greater dissemination of the results of the excavations at the Çatalhöyük site in Turkey, a site recently designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO; needs no further introduction.

O autor, Ian Hodder, arqueólogo britânico que já esteve em uma de nossas reuniões da Sociedade de Arqueologia Brasileira, pioneiro em diferentes perspec-tivas das abordagens pós-processuais e responsável direto pela maior divulgação sobre os resultados das escavações do sítio Çatalhöyük na Turquia, sítio indicado recentemen-te como patrimônio da humanidade pela UNESCO; dispensa maiores apresentações.
