Desafios e possibilidades na pesquisa sobre diversidade geracional no ambiente de trabalho: uma revisão bibliográfica

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the challenges and possibilities present in research on generational diversity in the workplace through a systematic literature review. Considering the increasing presence of multiple generations working simultaneously within organizations, this research sought to understand how the topic has been addressed in the scientific literature. To achieve this, the Web of Science database and bibliometric tools such as Bibliometrix were utilized, enabling the identification of key authors, journals, countries, and fields of knowledge that constitute both the research front and the intellectual base on the subject. The analysis of the most cited articles allowed for the mapping of theoretical and methodological gaps, as well as the suggestion of future research agendas. The findings underscore the need for a deeper conceptual understanding of what defines a generation, the adoption of more robust methodologies, and the inclusion of diverse sociocultural contexts. It is concluded that although there is growing academic and practical interest in generational diversity, there is still a need to advance the scientific rigor of the approaches, avoiding reductionism and stereotypes. This study contributes to the development of a more robust and critical research field on the topic within organizational settings.
