Resumo
O presente trabalho buscou avaliar a qualidade de vida de pessoas com deficiência mental. A amostra consistiu de 15 pessoas (10 mulheres e 5 homens), com média de idade de 26,8 anos. Os dados desta pesquisa foram coletados através da aplicação da primeira versão em língua portuguesa do Questionário de Qualidade de Vida QQV. Os sujeitos foram indagados sobre sua Satisfação com a vida, Produtividade, Independência e Participação Social. Foi possível identificar que o percentil médio mais elevado foi alcançado na escala de Satisfação (73,6), seguido da avaliação da participação social (52,8) e Produtividade (43,73). O desempenho mais baixo foi encontrado na avaliação do domínio Independência (12,8). Além disso, observamos que os participantes compreenderam o questionário e responderam de forma adequada às questões feitas. Diante disso, a análise nos permitiu dizer da necessidade de se investir no contexto social destes indivíduos, sobretudo na promoção de independência dos mesmos, contribuindo, desta forma, para a Qualidade de Vida das pessoas com deficiência mental.
Abstract
The objective of this study was the evaluation of the quality of life of the people with mental deficiency. The sample consisted of 15 individuals (10 women and 5 men), with an average age of 26,8 years. The data of this research were obtained from the submission of the first version for the Quality of Life Questionnaire QoL.Q in Portuguese language. The subjects were asked about their Satisfaction with Life, Productivity, Independence and Social Participation. It was possible to identify that the highest mean percentile achieved by the subjects happened in the Satisfaction scale (73,6), followed by the Social Participation Evaluation (52,8), and Productivity (43,73). The lowest performance was found in the evaluation of the management of the Independence (12,8). Furthermore, we noticed that the participants understood the questionnaire and answered properly to its questions. Hence, the analysis allow us to say that there is a need for investments in the social context of these individuals, mostly in the promotion of their independence, enhancing, therefore, the Quality of Life of the people with mental deficiency.
