Resumo
O presente texto se propõe a prestar uma homenagem à Maria Eugênia Duarte e seu importante trabalho desbravador no âmbito da sintaxe do Português Brasileiro. Para isso, pretendo retomar e apresentar brevemente três trabalhos produzidos pela autora nos anos 90 e buscar estabelecer relações entre as evidências encontradas por ela e novos olhares que seguem a mesma linha descritiva. Por fim, pretendo traçar uma relação entre as análises da referida autora com a noção de encaixamento da mudança linguística proposta por Weinreich, Labov e Herzog (1968), demonstrando que a mudança na representação do sujeito pronominal desencadeou diversas outras mudanças na gramática do PB.
Abstract
This text proposes to honor Maria Eugênia Duarte and her important pioneering work in the context of Brazilian Portuguese syntax. For this, I intend to briefly present three works produced by the author in the 1990s and seek to establish relationships between the evidence found by her and new perspectives that follow the same descriptive line. Finally, I intend to draw a relationship between the analysis of the author with the notion of embedding the linguistic change proposed by Weinreich, Labov and Herzog (1968), by demonstrating that the change in the representation of the pronominal subject triggered several other changes in the BP grammar.
