Resumo
A relação cêntrica é posição mais estável, reproduzível e confortável que a
mandíbula pode assumir e deveria ser o ponto de referência quando se está
lidando com a oclusão. Este relato de caso teve como objetivo descrever um
tratamento utilizando alinhadores para correção de alteração oclusal de Classe
II em paciente portador de discrepância entre a cêntrica e habitual e descrever
a importância do diagnóstico em relação cêntrica, uma vez que o paciente foi
encaminhado pelo protesista por possuir sinais de instabilidade oclusal, como
por exemplo retração gengival. O exame clínico mostrou relação molar e
canino em Classe I em MHI e ao avaliar a oclusão em RC, apresentou relação
molar Classe II com sobressaliência de 5 mm e mordida aberta anterior.O
planejamento virtual do paciente foi realizado em Oclusão Cêntrica e incluiu 60
alinhadores superiores e inferiores e a mecânica incluiu Power Arm associado
a mini-implantes e elásticos de classe dois. Ao final do tratamento a má
oclusão foi corrigida.
Abstract
The centric relationship is the most stable, reproducible, and comfortable that
the mandible can assume and should be the reference point when dealing with
occlusion. The objective of this case report was to describe a treatment using
aligners for the correction of class two occlusal alterations in a patient with
discrepancy between the centric and habitual occlusal disorders and to describe
the importance of the diagnosis in a centric relationship, since the patient was
referred by the prosthetist because he had signs of occlusal instability, such as
receding gums. The clinical examination showed a class I molar and canine
relationship in MHI and, evaluating the occlusion in CR, showed a class II molar
relationship with a 5 mm overjet and an anterior open bite. The virtual planning
of the patient was performed in Centric Occlusion and included 60 upper and
lower aligners and the mechanical one included Power Arm associated with
mini-implants and class two elastic bands. At the end of the treatment, class 2
was corrected.
