Resumo
Em recente pesquisa de pós-doutorado, me dediquei à escrita de um ensaio biográfico sobre o cartunista Fernando Pieruccetti, criador das famosas mascotes que representam os clubes do futebol mineiro (Galo, Raposa, Coelho etc) e personagem importante do grupo de artistas que, nos anos 1930, introduziu as tendências da arte moderna no cenário artístico local. O objetivo deste artigo é revisitar esse processo de pesquisa e elaboração de um ensaio biográfico, tomando-o como ponto de partida para uma reflexão sobre as biografias de artistas e escritores, com foco na dimensão ficcional dessas narrativas e nas relações entre as obras de arte e as vidas de seus criadores. Nessa reflexão, busco compreender a biografia do artista como o resultado de um processo de circularidade, no qual se cruzam e se tornam indiscerníveis o documento e a ficção, a vida do autor e a força projetiva de sua criação.
Abstract
In a recent postdoctoral research, I dedicated myself to writing a biographic essay on cartoonist Fernando Pieruccetti, the creator of the famous mascots of the main football teams in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, and an important member of the group of artists who introduced modern art trends in the local art scene. The purpose of this article is to revisit this research, taking it as a starting point for a reflection on artists’ and writers’ biographies, focusing on the fictional dimension of these narratives and the relationships between the works of art and the lives of their creators. In this reflection, I try to understand the artist’s biography as the result of a circularity process, in which the document and the fiction, and therefore the author’s life and the projective strength of their creation, intersect themselves, and become indiscernible.
