local.description.resumoWe are the authors of one of the studies selected for the meta-analysis that was recently published in JAMDA: “The Efficacy and Safety of Tube Feeding in Advanced Dementia Patients: A SystemicReview and Meta-Analysis Study.”1 We published the study “AComparison of Survival, Pneumonia, and Hospitalization in Patients With Advanced Dementia and Dysphagia Receiving Either Oral orEnteral Nutrition.”2On reading the meta-analysis, two results in which our study was included came to our attention. We disagree with the manner in which the results were treated, specifically, with the survival analysis shown in Figure 2B and in the analysis of the pneumonia risk presented in Figure 4A and in the supplementary table.
