dc.description.abstractThis present work aims to present an investigation of urban anthropotoponyms registered in the historical center of the city of São João del-Rei - MG. In this way, there are possible motivators for the change of the anthropotoponyms that have undergone, for three hundred years, some streets of the city. As theoretical and methodological assumptions, we adopted the topological model of Dauzat (1939) and Dick (1990). In this way, this study resource presents the first results of linguistic research, focusing on anthropotonyme lexicon. Analyzing and observing in these names the motivation, the variation and the change it was observed that the results were positive, since it was possible to rescue relevant informative elements about the past of the historical of São João del-Rei - MG.

local.description.resumoO presente trabalho tem como objetivo apresentar uma investigação dos antropotopônimos urbanos registrados no centro histórico da cidade de São João del-Rei – MG. Desse modo apresentam-se possíveis motivadores da mudança dos antropotopônimos a que se submeteram, ao longo de trezentos anos, algumas ruas da cidade. Como pressupostos teórico- metodológicos, adotamos o modelo toponímico de Dauzat (1939) e Dick (1990). Dessa forma, este recorte de estudo apresenta os primeiros resultados da pesquisa linguística, com enfoque no léxico antrotoponímico. Analisando e observando nesses nomes a motivação, a variação e a mudança, observou-se que os resultados foram positivos, uma vez que se conseguiu resgatar relevantes elementos informativos sobre o passado da histórica São João del-Rei - MG.
