Resumo
A Mostra Universidade Cidade foi um evento promovido pelo Espaço do Conhecimento da UFMG, em parceria com a Prefeitura de Belo Horizonte (PBH), a partir dos Centros Culturais vinculados à Secretaria Municipal de Cultura (SMC) e à Fundação Municipal de Cultura (FMC). Na elaboração do projeto curatorial, foi fundamental considerar a dimensão urbana, atravessada e desmaterializada pela epidemia da COVID-19, e a consequente necessidade do isolamento social. A urbanidade pareceu o elemento capaz de conectar a Mostra pelo viés da cultura, da gentileza e do compartilhamento, tendo sempre como horizonte a ideia de janelas multiplicadoras. O objetivo era que a produção da universidade e da cidade, bem como aquela resultante desse encontro, pudessem alcançar diversos territórios, sejam eles físicos ou virtuais, sem que o isolamento fosse rompido. Nesse processo, muitos limites foram ultrapassados graças à potência do encontro de cidadãos comprometidos com a cidade e a cultura.
Abstract
Mostra Universidade Cidade was an event promoted by Espaço do Conhecimento of UFMG in partnership with the City Hall of Belo Horizonte (PBH), and executed through the Cultural Centers linked to the Municipal Secretary of Culture (SMC) and the Municipal Foundation of Culture (FMC). The purpose of the exhibition was to broaden the reach of what was being produced at the university and in the city, and the result of the interplay of these two as well. In this sense, the goal was to reach various spheres, whether physical or virtual, without breaking the isolation imperative. The urban dimension, as dematerialized and permeated by the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic, thereby was a central factor to be considered in the development of the curatorial project. Urbanity in its turn figured as the element capable of connecting the exhibition with regard to culture, kindness, and sharing – always taking the idea of multiplying windows as a guiding principle. Throughout the process, many limits were surpassed thanks to the potentialities that lie in bringing together citizens committed to the city and culture.
