Plants play an essential role in the life and health of human beings. The last few decades have witnessed great interest in their use. Several plants demonstrated beneficial medicinal effects due to their phytochemical compounds, which include several combinations of plant’s secondary products. Phytochemicals are bioactive chemical structures, naturally found in roots, leaf, fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, tea and seeds that are able to promote human health and prevent diseases. Their therapeutic effects are then associated with the phytochemical composition, especially with the substances such as flavonoids, alkaloids, sterols, terpenoids, phenolic acids, stilbenes, lignans, tannins and saponins.
