Resumo
Esta monografia tem como objetivo discutir a atuação do homem na Educação Infantil, refletindo sobre as barreiras e as possibilidades existentes neste ofício. Utiliza como metodologia a pesquisa bibliográfica, apresentando uma reflexão sobre diferentes aspectos que envolvem essa temática. Inicialmente, aborda a história da educação infantil perpassando pela atuação dos sujeitos docentes nessa modalidade. Demonstra que inicialmente a docência escolar era essencialmente masculina. Discorre sobre o processo histórico que tornou a educação feminizada, questionando os motivos que levaram o homem a se afastar do papel de professor nessa etapa importantíssima da educação infantil. A partir de dados estatísticos, apresenta o número de homens na docência de crianças pequenas, tendo como foco a Cidade de Governador Valadares/MG. Trabalha o binômio cuidar-educar, destacando o ato de cuidar como um dos marcos responsável pelo preconceito existente em torno do trabalho masculino. Finalmente, propõe repensar e desconstruir a base preconceituosa e discriminatória que se instala na sociedade atual acerca desse trabalho ainda minimamente exercido por homens.
Abstract
This paper aims to discuss the role of men in early childhood education, reflecting on barriers and possibilities in this craft. Use as methodology the literature, presenting a reflection on different aspects of this issue. Initially, it covers the history of early childhood education permeating the performance of subject teachers this modality. It shows that initially the school teaching was essentially male. Discusses the historical process which made feminised education, questioning the reasons that led the man to move away from teacher role in this important stage of early childhood education. From statistical data shows the number of men in the teaching of young children, focusing on the Governador Valadares city / MG. Works binomial care-educate, highlighting the act of care as one of the milestones responsible for the existing prejudice about male job. Finally, we propose to rethink and deconstruct prejudiced and discriminatory basis that settles in our society about this job even minimally exercised by men.
