Quais as intervenções fisioterapêuticas realizadas na atenção primária à saúde no manejo da hipertensão arterial sistêmica em idosos

Abstract

Introduction: Controlling hypertension in the elderly presents specific challenges, such as the presence of multiple comorbidities, polypharmacy, and socioeconomic factors. In this scenario, the physiotherapist who is part of the multiprofessional team (eMulti) in Primary Health Care (PHC) plays a fundamental role in the context of Systemic Arterial Hypertension (SAH). Objective: To identify and analyze the physiotherapeutic interventions performed within the scope of PHC and their effects on the management of SAH in the elderly, comparing them with the recommendations established in national and international clinical guidelines for hypertension control in this population. Methods: This is an integrative review composed of the following steps: elaboration of the guiding question, definition of inclusion and exclusion criteria, literature search, categorization of the selected studies, critical analysis, and synthesis of the results. Results: Based on the search strategy utilized with the indicated keywords and Boolean operators, 1,709 articles were found. Following the screening and eligibility procedures, seven (07) articles were included in the review, described in the presented flowchart, table, and chart. Conclusion: The physiotherapist's role in PHC is diverse and is aligned with the guidelines for comprehensive care and the prevention of non-communicable chronic diseases. This therapeutic potential of physiotherapy in the control of SAH is optimized when integrated within a multiprofessional team context.
