dc.description.abstractThe objective of this study is to highlight the presence and absence of women in sports practiced at the Belo Horizonte Municipal Park (PMBH) in the 1910s. The documentary research was conducted at the Digital Newspaper Library. The presence of women from Belo Horizonte's elite was identified in tennis matches in 1915, held at a party at the PMBH. Other sports were practiced in the park at that time, such as bicycle racing, running, regattas, and soccer, but there is no evidence of their presence in these sports, although in other locations there are records of their participation.

local.description.resumoO objetivo deste trabalho é evidenciar a presença e a ausência das mulheres no esporte no Parque Municipal de Belo Horizonte (PMBH), na década de 1910. Realizou-se pesquisa documental na Hemeroteca Digital. Identificou-se a presença de mulheres da elite belo-horizontina em partidas de tênis, em 1915, realizadas em uma festa no PMBH. Outras práticas esportivas ocorreram no parque nessa época, como páreos de bicicletas, corrida a pé, regata e futebol, entretanto não há indícios da presença delas nessas modalidades, embora em outras localidades haja registros de sua participação.
