Resumo
Adriana Valladão foi diretora do Núcleo de Acessibilidade e Inclusão (NAI) da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) de 2015 a 2019 e é atuante nas áreas de avaliação e desempenho funcional; tecnologia assistiva com foco em funcionalidade e participação; e educação inclusiva. Após apresentar o minicurso Educação Inclusiva no Ensino Superior, ao lado da professora Rosana Passos, no IV Congresso de Inovação e Metodologias no Ensino Superior, do GIZ, ela concedeu esta entrevista, a fim de esclarecer algumas questões acerca do processo de inclusão dos alunos com deficiência na UFMG.Partindo da desafiadora e imprescindível inclusão no ensino superior, Adriana reconhece os avanços alcançados pela universidade no que concerne ao acolhimentoe ao suporte aos alunos com deficiência, porém aponta os atuais desafios enfrentados, tanto pelo NAI quanto pelos discentes e docentes da UFMG. Ela elucida, ainda, a significante transformação da instituição proporcionada pela chegada desses alunos ao ambiente acadêmico
Abstract
Adriana Valladão was the director of the Accessibility and Inclusion Center (NAI) at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) from 2015 to 2019 and is active in the areas of functional assessment and performance; assistive technology with a focus on functionality and participation; and inclusive education. After presenting the mini-course Inclusive Education in Higher Education, alongside professor Rosana Passos, at the IV Congress of Innovation and Methodologies in Higher Education, by GIZ, she gave this interview in order to clarify some questions about the process of inclusion of students with disabilities at UFMG. Starting from the challenging and essential inclusion in higher education, Adriana recognizes the advances made by the university regarding the reception and support of students with disabilities, but points out the current challenges faced by both the NAI and by UFMG students and professors. She also elucidates the significant transformation of the institution brought about by the arrival of these students in the academic environment.
