Evaluation of the Commercial Kit SIRE Nitratase for detecting resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis in Brazil

| dc.description.abstract | Este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar um novo kit comercial, Kit SIRE Nitratase-PlastLabor, para testar a suscetibilidade a drogas de isolados clínicos de Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Métodos: A acurácia do Kit SIRE Nitratase foi avaliada examinando-se a suscetibilidade (estreptomicina, isoniazida, rifampicina e etambutol) de 40 isolados de M. tuberculosis, utilizando o método de proporção com meio Lowenstein-Jensen ou o sistema BACTEC MGIT 960. Resultados: A precisão de detecção para estreptomicina, isoniazida, rifampicina e etambutol foi de 95%, 97,5%, 100% e 80%, respectivamente. Conclusões: A excepcional precisão demonstrada pelo Kit SIRE Nitratase para isoniazida e rifampicina torna o kit uma opção atraente para o rastreamento de resistência à cepa de M. tuberculosis. | |
