Discurso e política: a construção do éthos da união nacional dos estudantes (une) na atualidade

Abstract

Considering that the Brazilian students’ movement had active participation in the major political and social changes in the country, we intend, in this paper, to apprehend the éthos of UNE built in/by their current discourse. We will analyze two texts posted on the website of the entity, in 2011, in the light of French Discourse Analysis (AD), privileging the global semantics proposed by D. Maingueneau. Through its integrated plans, we will seek to “grasp” the (self) image that the enunciator UNE gives to the receiver, an image which intends to retrieve, through discursive memory, the previous éthos of an engaged and active organization, especially during the period of the military dictatorship.We remember that, if the plans ofthe so-called global semantics reveal “choices” of the enunciator (contributing to unveil his/her éthos), these “choices” are constrained by the discursive(s) formation(s) from where he(she) speaks. In general, we found two main éthe: a “citizen” éthos and a more evident one, which we called “revolutionary” éthos.
