Progressos do serviço social na atenção às demandas da população 'T': um caminho na lógica dos direitos humanos

Abstract

This paper represents a historical rescue of the Social Service in order to identify the social and historical evolution of the profession, verifying the Brazilian progress in Social Assistance and its policies in relation to the demands of the Transvestite and Transsexual Population. In this resumption of the historical evolution of the profession of Social Workers from the attribution of assistance, the movement of reconceptualization, to regulation as a profession in Brazil to thereby reinforce the need for a professional practice based on the defense and promotion of human rights. For this purpose, the documentary-historical methodology is adopted based on the analysis of those established in the Code of Ethics of the Social Assistants, in the Professional, Political and Ethical Project of the Social Service, in the guidelines of the CFESS-CRESS group, in the National Social Assistance Policy , the Basic Operational Standard NOB / SUAS, the National Typification of Social Assistance Services, the Yogyakarta Principles and the Born Free and Equals Primer. Some advances were found in these devices that guide professional practice such as the inclusion of the terms "sexual orientation" and "gender identity" but it was noticed that Social Work has a long way to go next to Transvestite and Transsexual Population.
