| dc.description.abstract | A doença de Alzheimer (DA) é a causa mais frequente de demência, associada a uma perda significativa e progressiva do desempenho cognitivo e funcional. As micropartículas (MPs) são microvesículas, variando de 0,1 a 1 µm, liberadas da membrana celular durante sua apoptose. Eles estão envolvidos na comunicação célula-célula transferindo proteínas cito/nucleares, DNA, mRNA e miRNA. Considerando que as MPs estão envolvidas na neuroinflamação e hemostasia, e que os níveis de vários fatores vasculares e inflamatórios foram relatados como aumentados em pacientes com DA, nós hipotetizamos que os níveis de MPs plasmáticas (plaquetas, leucócitos, MPs endoteliais, derivadas de células neuronais e MPs que expressam fator tecidual [TF]) podem ser biomarcadores potenciais para o diagnóstico de DA. | |

| local.description.resumo | Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the most frequent cause of dementia, associated with a significant and progressive loss of both cognitive and functional performance .Microparticles (MPs) are microvesicles, ranging from 0.1 to 1 μm, released from the cell membrane during its activation and apoptosis. They are involved in cell-cell communication transferring cyto/nuclear proteins, DNA, mRNA and miRNA . Considering that MPs are involved in neuroinflammation and hemostasis, and that levels of several vascular and inflammatory factors were reported to be increased in patients with AD, we hypothesized that plasmatic MPs levels (platelet, leukocyte, endothe-lial, neuron cell-derived MPs and MPs that express tissue factor [TF]) may be potential biomarkers to AD diagnosis. | |
