Percepção do cuidador familiar sobre a assistência do enfermeiro no âmbito da atenção domiciliar na estratégia saúde da família

Abstract

Primary Care materializes through the Family Health Strategy, where Nurses stand out through the possibility of operating in a creative and autonomous way, starting from the understanding of the family context and their interactions. The household is the place where the family develops in its entirety, the family caregiver being the one who assumes the responsibility of caring for a member of his family in a condition of dependency, guaranteeing his basic needs through the coordination of his daily activities. Objective: to describe the perception of the caregiver relative to the care of the nurse in the scope of home care in the Family Health Strategy. Method: This is a descriptive-exploratory study of a qualitative approach, carried out in a Health Center located in the city of Belo Horizonte. Data were collected through an unstructured questionnaire and analyzed using the Content Analysis method by Bardin. Results: family caregivers, for the most part, show that the main difficulty found in nurses’ work in home care refers to the low frequency of visits or even their absence, which makes it difficult to identify their real role and its importance. Conclusion: it is essential that nurses understand and value their functions before the community, believe in the initiative and have commitment, so that it can become an active subject and the point of reference in the Family Health Strategy
