Validação da escala Dweck Mindset Instrument (DMI) para o idioma Português-BR

| dc.description.abstract | Mindset is an attitude directed to a goal. Person focuses on learning goals, considering their selves in continuous development, have an attitude of Growth Mindset. On the other hand, a person focus on performance goals, believing in limited genetically inherited capacities and skills, have an attitude of Fixed Mindset. Mindset is a construct with positive results on the academic and organizational field, although there aren’t founded studies in Brazil about this topic. In consequence, the questionnaire used to measure these construct, the Dweck Mindset Instrument (DMI) it was not translated to the Portuguese-br language. These present paper has the goal to validate the DMI to Portuguese-br language using the culture validate method by Beaton et al. (2000) and the exploratory factor analysis following the steps proposed by Hair et al. (2017). As result a final questionnaire has been built with 2 main constructs and 4 items, representing the Growth and Fixed Mindset. The limitation and suggestions for the future researches are discriminated in the end of the paper. | |

| local.description.resumo | O Mindset é uma atitude direcionada a objetivos. O indivíduo focado em objetivos de aprendizado, considerando-se em contínuo desenvolvimento, assume uma atitude de Mindset de crescimento. Por sua vez, o indivíduo focado em objetivos de desempenho, acreditando que suas capacidades não são por completo mutáveis, e considerando-se um ser limitado de conhecimento, possui um Mindset fixo. O Mindset apresenta resultados positivos tanto em ambientes educacionais e organizacionais, porém não foram encontrados estudos sobre o tema em território brasileiro. Em consequência, o instrumento usado para medir o Mindset individual, o Dweck Mindset Instrument, não foi traduzido nem validado para o idioma português-br. Assim, o presente artigo tem como objetivo validar a escala DMI para o idioma português-BR usando o método de Beaton, Bombardier e Guillemin (2000) para a validação cultural e a Análise fatorial exploratória (AFE) seguindo as diretrizes de Hair, Hult, Ringle e Sarstedt (2017). Como resultado, chegou-se ao instrumento final com 4 questões, duas representando o Mindset de crescimento e 2 representando o Mindset fixo. As limitações e sugestões para futuras são sugeridas ao final do trabalho. | |
