A presença de objetos de marfim em Minas colonial: estética, materialidade e hipóteses acerca da produção local

Abstract

This article is the report of the research project under development, from the partnership with the group "African Ivories in the Atlantic World", FALE of the University of Lisbon, from the international cooperation agreement called "The production, circulation and use of ivory Africans in the Atlantic space of the XV-XIX" signed with the UFMG. Considering the transit issues involved in the movement of nomadic, religious and ordinary objects, this research developed in Minas Gerais collections has the objective of launching hypotheses about local production.
