Análise dos erros radiográficos cometidos por alunos da Especialização de Radiologia e Imaginologia da Faculdade de Odontologia da UFMG

Abstract

To avoid biological impacts, financial and interference in the diagnosis, the dental radiographs should be performed with high quality. This study aimed to analyze the major errors committed by students of radiographic Specialization of Radiology and Imaginology, Faculty of Dentistry, UFMG in 2011 and first half of 2012. We analyzed the individual reports of patients who sought care from the Department of Radiology, Faculty and notes, about the mistakes were made under the supervision of professors of radiology that were calibrated to detect errors. A total of 514 radiographs were obtained and 298 periapical, 195 panoramic, 16 bitewing and 6 occlusal. 119 errors were observed (23%) and radiographic technique with the highest number of failures was the Panoramic (38%) followed by interproximal (20%). The most common error in Panoramic was incorrect positioning of the patient (20%); Periapical in the incorrect positioning of the film (11%) in the interproximal the angulation (13%). The largest number of errors was made by radiographic students in the 3rd module.
