Racismo religioso e religiosidades: uma análise do discurso de mestres de axé

Abstract

In this article, we present reflections on religious racism in the experience of masters in traditional knowledge of axé, coming from Afro-Brazilian religiosities. For this, we interviewed and analyzed the speeches of masters through critical discourse analysis (CDA), seeking to understand the meanings given by these subjects to the experiences of racial and religious discrimination. Through interdisciplinary studies, we identified three essential dimensions for the existence of this type of prejudice: legal, religious and educational. From the research carried out, it was possible to identify experiences in which religious racism crossed the subjects' lives, as well as against discourses, or discourses against colonials, capable of enabling an anti-racist education, through the construction of positive images related to the knowledge of the people of axé.
