| dc.description.abstract | This study analyzes the amusements in the dynamics of the city of São Paulo of the nineteenth century, with the aim of better understanding them. Itis dedicated specifically to amusements practices that were prominent, due to the frequency with which they appeared innewspapers between 1828 and 1867.These amusements are the reading, the games and jokings, the balls and the theater. The time frame was determined by changes in the dynamics of the city, which had a greater impact on the amusements. The inauguration of the Faculty of Law is the initial mark, and the arrival of the railroad is the final marl. The sources are the periodicals, and the literature produced by foreign travelers who were in the cityin the period. | |

| local.description.resumo | Esse estudo analisa os divertimentos na dinâmica da cidade de São Paulo do século XIX, com o objetivo de melhor compreendê-los. Dedica-se especificamente a práticas de divertimento que tiveram destaque, devido à frequência com que apareceram nos jornais, entre 1828 e 1867. Esses divertimentos são a leitura, os jogos e brincadeiras, os bailes e o teatro.O recorte temporal foi determinado pelas alterações na dinâmica da cidade,que repercutiram mais marcadamente sobre os divertimentos. A inauguração da Faculdade de Direito é o marco inicial,e a chegada da ferrovia o marco final. As fontes são os periódicos e a literatura produzida por viajantes estrangeiros que estiveram na capital paulistano período. | |
