Pedagogia Waldorf e sua expansão em solo brasileiro

Abstract

Created in Germany right after the First World War, Waldorf Pedagogy completes 102 years of history this year and is present in the five continents. In Brazil, this pedagogical proposal has completed 65 years and is in great expansion in the country. The Austrian philosopher Rudolf Steiner, its founder, conceived Anthroposophy, which influenced not only education, but also agriculture, medicine, psychology, and others, with its own cosmovision of human and social development. The objective of this study is to present Waldorf Pedagogy, its characteristics, its origin in Brazilian lands, and its expansion in Brazil. It is argued that, on one hand, Waldorf Pedagogy is still little known in the academic community and, on the other hand, there is a growth of schools based on its ideals in Brazil. There are around eighty Waldorf schools in Brazil that focus on an integral vision of the human being, contemplated in the classes by the feeling, thinking and acting of the students, the prioritization of experimenting with content, the vast artistic experience, the contact with nature, the differentiated evaluation, and the self management of the school. There are dozens of schools in the process of certification, a Waldorf School of Pedagogy created in 2018, and the desire to expand this scope. Through a documental and bibliographic analysis it is shown that there is an expressive growth of this pedagogy in Brazil and we affirm that the scenario is promising for this expansion not only as a teaching alternative, but as a way to analyze the human being as a whole, respecting his individuality and preparing him to act in the social environment with freedom, creativity and responsibility.
