| dc.description.abstract | In the 20th death anniversary of French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu, this text discusses two aspects of his work that significantly advanced knowledge, but now demand an update related to the educational social world, considering its transformations in the last decades. The aspects are: the thesis about the relation between cultural capital and school success, particularly the hypothesis of an osmotic transmission—from parents to children—of this type of social advantage; the thesis of causality of the probable, developed through the notion of internalization of objective possibilities, as a hypothesis to understand how individuals build their aspirations and projects. | |

| local.description.resumo | Ao se registrar o vigésimo aniversário de morte do sociólogo francês Pierre Bourdieu, este texto discute dois aspectos de sua obra que representaram forte avanço no conhecimento, mas demandam uma atualização no que concerne ao mundo social da educação, em vista de suas transformações nas últimas décadas. São eles: as teses sobre a relação entre a posse de capital cultural e o sucesso escolar, em particular a hipótese de uma transmissão osmótica — de pais a filhos — dessa forma de vantagem social; a tese da causalidade do provável desenvolvida por meio da noção de interiorização das chances objetivas, como hipótese para se compreender como cada indivíduo constrói suas aspirações e formula seus projetos. | |
