Ato, poder e emancipação: psicanálise e vínculos sociais

Abstract

The article proposes a rereading of a chapter of the Emancipation and difference of Ernesto Laclau, with a view to isolate and problematize contemporary aspects of the notions of difference, democracy and freedom. In a dialogue between Laclau’s theses and others, mainly from the works of Rancière, Todorov, Badiou and Lacan, the aim is to discuss the thesis of an “inconsistent totality” as a parameter for discussing the status of contemporary intersubjective bonds and social ties. At the end, it is examined, from the dialogue of the mobilized authors, the possibility that the incorporation of precariousness, emptiness and finitude into identity and social policies coincides with the end of emancipation and with the beginning of freedom.
