dc.description.abstractThis dissertation discusses the relationship between history and literature in three ways,which are intercrossed. The first concerns the relationship between history and literatureglimpsed in important works of contemporary historiographic scenario, from Annales tothe postmoderns. The second concerns the same subject, but at this time, explored inthe critical fortune of The Devil to Pay in the Backlands, about the way these criticalstudies read the history through the novel, working with the statutes of history andliterature and, because of that, giving a resignification to them. The third way relateshistory and literature by a particular lecture, which has language and time as the mainkeys.

local.description.resumoA presente dissertação de mestrado discute as relações entre história e literatura, detrês maneiras, que se entrecruzam. A primeira concerne às relações entre história eliteratura vislumbradas em importantes obras do cenário historiográfico contemporâneo,dos Annales aos pós-modernos. A segunda diz respeito ao mesmo tema, mas, dessavez, explorado na fortuna crítica de Grande Sertão: Veredas, a partir da forma comoessa crítica lê a história pelo romance, operando, para tanto, com os estatutos dahistória e da literatura de modo a ressignificá-los. A terceira forma, por sua vez,relaciona história e literatura, por meio de uma leitura autoral e específica do romancerosiano, tendo em vista a linguagem como elemento-chave.
