Concepções de aprendizagem do português como segunda língua por aprendizes surdos

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the learning conceptions of deaf students about Portuguese as a second language. The corpus of this study is composed of interviews conducted through video involving each subject individually. Subjects answered a series of questions about the importance of the deaf person learning Portuguese as a second language, their difficulties in learning that language and how they learn. The interviews were filmed and the students' responses were transcribed into Portuguese for analysis. Students responses have allowed us to reach out to the metaphors they use to talk about their learning processes and have helped us understand how they comprehend their language learning processes.
