| dc.description.abstract | The objective of this work is the study and research of ceramics made by women from Vale do Jequitinhonha located in the north of the state of Minas Gerais. And how pottery in an artisanal way accompanies the history of these women, making it possible to change the reality of their families, seeing in ceramics the livelihood for the family, being the providers of their homes and children. The study given here reveals hope, the transformation in the lives of these women and the recognition of their ceramics as popular art that changes the financial reality, abandonment (by their husbands) and the social environment, reversing this situation. On the one hand, ceramics make them realize their own concepts in reference to art and craftsmanship, using accessible artistic techniques within the reality of the valley and the raw material existing “in the ravines” of the valley – clay – a natural treasure for they. In this way, they develop their own plastic aptitudes and make this knowledge a network of solidarity between them, transmitting and propagating among themselves and between generations the making of ceramics. Once her ceramic pieces are recognized as popular art, they gain notoriety and are invited to craft fairs, museums and institutions, gaining national exposure. From this collective art, some craftswomen stand out who are now recognized as individual artists and authors with their own characteristics and original thinking. | |

| local.description.resumo | O objetivo deste trabalho é o estudo e pesquisa das cerâmicas feitas pelas mulheres do Vale do Jequitinhonha localizado no norte do estado de Minas Gerais. E como a cerâmica de forma artesanal acompanha a história dessas mulheres, possibilitando mudar a realidade de suas famílias, enxergando na cerâmica o sustento para a família, sendo as provedoras de seus lares e filhos. O estudo que aqui se dá, nos revela a esperança, a transformação na vida dessas mulheres e o reconhecimento de suas cerâmicas como arte popular que modifica a realidade financeira, de abandono (por seus maridos) e do meio social revertendo essa situação. Por um lado, a cerâmica as faz perceber seus próprios conceitos em referência a arte e artesanato, usando as técnicas acessíveis artísticas dentro da própria realidade do vale e da própria matéria prima existente “nos barrancos” do vale – a argila – um tesouro natural para elas. Dessa forma desenvolvem as aptidões plásticas próprias de cada uma e fazem desse conhecimento uma rede de solidariedade entre elas transmitindo e propagando entre si e por entre as gerações o fazer da cerâmica. Uma vez que suas peças de cerâmicas são reconhecidas como arte popular, ganham notoriedade e passam a ser convidadas para feiras artesanais, museus e instituições, ganhando projeções nacionais. Dessa arte coletiva colocam em destaque algumas artesãs que passam a serem reconhecidas como artistas e autores individuais com características próprias e pensamento original. | |
