Retrato do artista quando coisa, de Manoel de Barros: uma estética da repetição

Abstract

The objective of this work is to reflect on the way in which repetition 3 understood as the dialogue with tradition and with the speaker itself 3 underpins the work of Manoel de Barros. In it, we present a review of the theory of intertextuality and influence, as well as the state of the art, seeking to understand what has already been studied on the subject in the work of the renowned poet. Finally, taking as our corpus the book A Portrait of the Artist as a Thing (1998), but also resorting to other books by the author when necessary, we analyze literary procedures and themes that are repeated in the poetry of the poet from Mato Grosso, such as the metamorphosis with nature and with things, metalanguage and the gaze towards the insignificant and the ordinary.
