| dc.description.abstract | This article discusses the intrinsic relationship between art and design. Its main goal is to investigate these two areas and to understand to what extent they to approach, move away and disappear. The research method was based on bibliography analysis of art and design; visit to shows, exhibitions and debates on art and design; dialogue with professional from design and art; among other considerations. It is concluded that trying to establish limits through the generalization of these two areas, and does not show how solution, can become a "trap". It is understood that the most appropriate is to try to understand them in the plural as "designs", because of the variety, plurality and diversity of situations and possibilities with which it can be exercised. | |

| local.description.resumo | Este artigo aborda as relações intrínsecas entre a arte e o design. Tem como objetivo principal investigar essas duas áreas e compreender até que ponto elas se aproximam, se afastam e se confundem. O método de pesquisa consistiu na análise de bibliografia selecionada sobre arte e design; visita à mostras, exposições e debates sobre arte e design; diálogo com profissionais do design e da arte; entre outras reflexões. Conclui-se que tentar estabelecer limites por meio da generalização dessas duas áreas, além de não se mostrar como solução, pode se tornar uma “armadilha”. Entende-se que o mais adequado é tentar compreender o design no plural, ou seja, como “designs”, devido à variedade, pluralidade e diversidade de situações e possibilidades pelas quais essa área pode ser exercida. | |
