A propagação do 'você' pelas estruturas sociais: uma análise linguístico-social entre os séculos xix e xx

dc.description.abstractThe aim of this paper is to present analytically the strategies of reference to the second person singular subject - 2SG (Vossa Mercê, você, tu) correlating them with the social relations that underlie them in the written production of Minas Gerais in the 19th and 20th centuries in the light of the Theory of Power and Solidarity (Brown; Gilman, 1960), the theoretical-methodological assumptions of Historical Sociolinguistics (Hernández-Campoy; Schilling, 2012) and the Variationist Sociolinguistics (Weinreich; Labov; Herzog, 1968; Labov, 1994). We predict that você is more productive than tu in the historical samples of letters from Minas Gerais, following other linguistic analyzes also conducted by the analysis of historical samples, see Lopes et al. (2018) and Rumeu (2020). Based on the written production of Brazilian editors between the 19th and 20th centuries, we observed that tu and você predominate in symmetrical relationships, which suggests the direction of Brazilian society through the domains of Solidarity (Brown; Gilman, 1960), while Vossa Mercê is limited to ascending asymmetrical relationships (from lower to higher), see Lopes and Rumeu (2015).

local.description.resumoA proposta principal deste trabalho é a de descrever analiticamente as estratégias de referência ao sujeito de segunda pessoal do singular - 2SG (Vossa Mercê, você, tu), correlacionando-as às relações sociais que as embasam na produção escrita mineira dos séculos XIX e XX à luz da teoria do Poder e da Solidariedade (Brown; Gilman, 1960), dos pressupostos teórico-metodológicos da Sociolinguística Histórica (Hernández-Campoy; Schilling, 2012) e da Sociolinguística Variacionista (Weinreich; Labov; Herzog, 1968; Labov, 1994). Prevemos que o você seja mais produtivo do que o tu nas amostras históricas de cartas mineiras, acompanhando outras análises linguísticas também conduzidas pela análise de amostras históricas, ver Lopes et al. (2018) e Rumeu (2020). Com base na produção escrita de redatores brasileiros entre os séculos XIX e XX, observamos que as formas tu e você predominam nas relações simétricas, o que sugere o encaminhamento da sociedade brasileira pelos domínios da Solidariedade (Brown; Gilman, 1960), ao passo que o Vossa Mercê se mantém restrito às relações assimétricas ascendentes (de inferior para superior), conforme Lopes e Rumeu (2015).
