Centro de memória da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais: um aprendizado

Abstract

This paper reports the professional experience lived in the Memory Center of the Faculty of Letters of the Federal University of Minas Gerais - FALE-UFMG. The objective was to contribute to the creation, assembly of the first exhibition and the inauguration of the new memory space within FALE. The duration of the internship was two months. This laboratory served to work together with several professionals from other areas of knowledge and at the same time to realize the relevance of the museological process in these museum spaces. At that moment, it was possible to carry out several museological actions, such as acquisition, selection, organization, treatment and communication of the collection and collections available for the assembly of the center. It was first set out for a historical institutional research, followed by visits to the departments of the Faculty, where surveys and analyzes of documents and objects related to the history of FALE were carried out. This informational documentation was essential and decisive for the selection of the collection, as well as for the creation and assembly of the exhibition. The importance of the participation and the dialogue of several professionals who worked together in this process, as well as the possibility of allying the museological theory to the professional practice, was concluded at the end of the stage and also almost at the end of the graduation.
