dc.description.abstractThe objective of this work was to study the anorexia as social phenomenon, analyzing the proper definition and treatment of this pathology for the Medicine, exploring the genealogical perspective of this science, understanding the social value of the food and the relation that the anorexica develops with the alimentary diet. It was used of the concepts of "society of the spectacle", "culture of the narcisism" andthe theories of genre as theoretical tools capable to understand the value of the body image as propulse factor to the development of the anorexia.

local.description.resumoO objetivo deste trabalho foi estudar a anorexia como um fenômeno sóciocultural, analisando a própria definição e tratamento desta patologia pela Medicina, explorando-lhe a perspectiva genealógica, compreendendo o valor social da alimentação e a relação que a anoréxica desenvolve com a dieta alimentar. Utilizouse dos conceitos de sociedade do espetáculo, cultura do narcisismo e das teoriasde gênero como ferramentas teóricas capazes de compreender o valor da imagem corporal como fator propulsor ao desenvolvimento da anorexia.
